Vid Cast

What?
This week I learned all about vid casts and the soft ware to produce them. The assignment is to produce a three minute digital story with narration. I really excited to see what I can do.

So What?
This week and next week I am working on a very small digital story. I was surprised that one of the options was PowerPoint. Melissa, my partner, and I are working on ours using Photo Story. The Photo Story software seems very fun, which means simple and easy. I do wish that I had a Mac since I heard it is geared more to multi media and it is what I have seen used in the Provo School District.

Now What?
The digital story of three minutes would be a great way to introduce a new subject in the classroom. I think a great way to use a digital story is at the end of a subject. That it would be a great way to combine some state reports into a story about state facts. I remember a teacher creating an end of the year video for the students and as a parent I cherished the pictures throughout the school year. I think that Photo Story is simple enough to create some great learning projects on that other teachers would want to collaborate together without being intimidated. For me I personally prefer using different media resources so that I am not bored.
