The lessons I have learned……..I have realized that after field that some teachers have no interest in technology. This was a surprise since it is all around us. I mean really, who does not want a new cell phone? I see technology in the classroom being the same. Which student would not want to work with the newest software or work on an iPad at their desk? Not me.
I have realized that through the readings and videos that as a teacher I cannot make my students learn or have a knowledge of everything. But to rather have the idea to help the students with curiosity and the excitement of exploring, to not be afraid of technology. I see using technology as an art form, that students can make a digital story using pictures, music and narration along with collaboration. As a teacher and parent I think this is great having students make sense of several pieces to make one.
As a future teacher I see being able to reach out to students to help them discover interests. As in the video of Shift Happens, the jobs for my students have not been invented yet so I see my job is to help students explore and know how to learn to be part of the future.
